# Authentication

The platform uses API key-based authentication for all requests. Your keys grant access to the specific datasets and capabilities allowed by your account.

## Get Access

To use the Slingshot APIs, you'll need an **API key**.

Your API key authenticates your requests and grants access to Slingshot data. **Keep it private** — treat it like a password.
